Murder in Small town Ripley
By: Elizabeth Calvery
I don't know if you remember Mrs. Imogene Hardon or not. She was principal at Pine Grove then she retired there and taught at Blue Mountain College. This was her first year retired from Blue Mountain. Friday afternoon a woman played lost at Mrs. Hardon's house Mrs. Hardon being her sweet self invited the woman in to help her.
When she offered to call someone for her the woman shot her husband, Jessie James Hardon, three times killing him. She shot Mrs. Imogene once in the head. Mrs. Hardon played dead and then managed to call police when the woman left. They say Mrs. Hardon recognized the woman and called her by name but they haven't released any names. They are still looking for the woman and men they think are connected. The bullet only grazed Mrs. Hardon on the side of the head stopping around her ear somewhere. It's terrible. That's somewhere very close to Randy's mother's house. The law is swarming everywhere. Then up the road at Lake Mohawk a man shot his wife twice in the stomach killing her. All this happened Friday. Little Ripley is in a big uproar.
